Detour, Not Your Mother’s Musical

I send this out to all of you “women of a certain age”.  There’s a new musical in town-in Orlando Florida, at the Fringe Festival, starting May 17, 2013.

I got a chance to chat with Rachel Wright and Sarah Cowie, the co-writers, producer and director of Detour, and a few of the cast members.  Wow!!!  I can’t wait to see the show.

Here’s the storyline:
“Detour, NOT Your Mother’s Musical” , is a comedic romp about an intervention that four women and their one very close to being a woman friend take in order to help their gal pal, Ashley, rebound from her twenty year marriage which evaporates overnight.  The girls whisk their best friend to a resort to help her cope, rediscover themselves, learn about the joys of younger men, the pitfalls of plastic surgery and a thing or two about battery operated toys. Ashley feels like her life has taken her off course, but with friends by her side, she’s rerouted for an even better destination!”
