Thomas Dolby; ’80s musical icon is back and better than ever.

Life is a pretty sweet fruit and comes full circle.

I am a product of the ’80s-high school and college.  The music of that time definitely stuck with me.  One of the most famous artists of that era is Thomas Dolby, composer of such songs as “She Blinded Me With Science”, “Windpower” and “Hyperactive”.

He took 20 years off and got involved in Silicon Valley.  Do you have a Nokia cell phone with those “classic” ring tones?  Well, he was the guy who helped create the ringtone synth embedded in 3bn and Nokia phones.  Pretty cool, huh?

In many of the music industry magazines and even within the music scene, we always equate Thomas Dolby with the latest and greatest in music and being on the cutting edge of technology.  It was nice to speak with Thomas about life and his personal views on music, technology and travel.  I even learned that Thomas was a happy and devoted family man, something that is rarely touched upon in music industry magazines.

Thomas is back with a new album, the first in 20 years, and it’s great!  Listen to us chat all about what he’s done and what he’s doing.  He is truly a fascinating guy.
