‘Tis the Season In Florida

I spent the weekend before Christmas at the Rosen Hotels and Resorts.  What a great time we had.  Rosen Hotels and Resorts has a brilliant business model.  They offer everything from leisure vacations to huge convention centers, fitting just about every need and budget.  We stayed at the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando, one of the more budget friendly hotels offered by Rosen.   What it is lacking in luxury, it certainly makes up for in location.  It is right off Orlando’s famed International Drive.

The Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando still has all the things one expects from a great resort.  It has a restaurant featuring a “fab” breakfast buffet-which we went to twice, a bar, indoor and outdoor dining, 3 pools and even a game room.  I wish I had a few more days just to enjoy the amenities the hotel had to offer.  Our room was clean and quiet.  I discovered that the hotel is even pet friendly.  Sorry Vivi, but you’re still staying with “grandma”.

Speaking of luxury, Rosen Shingle Creek is absolutely spectacular.  We attended the Winter Wonderland at Rosen Shingle Creek, offered by Rosen Hotels.  It certainly got us into the Christmas Spirit.  This immense and luxurious hotel was decorated to the nines in all the Christmas trimmings.  Carolers were in the lobby, as was Santa.  We exited to the outdoors to find Florida snow (machines), lights galore and a gorgeous Christmas tree.

The crowd was having a blast.  Talk about family friendly.

Outside looking up

There were snowflakes, wooden soldiers and even real reindeer.  They were my favorite.

We went on a train ride and saw a Christmas Spirit-my camera wasn’t ready for this one, but I assure you, she was glowing.

Being a family of musicians, we were so excited to find they had karaoke.  The hostess running the karaoke was great with the kids and adults alike.  She got everybody singing and doing a few dances too.  Most of the singers sang Christmas carols…but not my daughter.  She’s a little bit rock and roll, and belted some Evanescence.  She really got the crowd going.  What I appreciated the most, was that she was allowed to sing the song of her choice-Thanks!!!!

The following night was the European Craft Fair, again at Shingle Creek.  Crafters and small business owners were selling their wares-perfect gifts for Christmas.  I did some last minute shopping under the stars, listening to great music and singing along.

We topped of both nights at the Cafe Osceola.  We were starving and were going to get a quick meal.  We found out that if you attended the evening’s events at the hotel, the buffet was half price.  I’m talking gourmet food for a great deal.  This made us all happy, especially because we had a wonderful meal at a fantastic price.

I would strongly recommend the Rosen Hotels and Resorts for your next Florida vacation.
